Forty.

I remember 10 years ago, minutes before turning 30, I started writing a post about my change of decade on my blog. (Just checked; went lost)

I was in our first home. Francesca was 8 months old. I just had run the first edition of Frontiers of Interaction.

I was sitting on the same couch where I am now. (Always been taught not to throw away something that is not broken).

I remember I felt grown-up. I remember I felt great.

Now I look at myself back then and smile.

The past decade transformed me in a totally different man. Learnt gazzilions of new things. Became smarter (and balder). Got to get in touch with amazing persons I would never had imagined to be able to meet (you know who you are), travelled to places I would never had imagined to set my feet onto. Launched 2 companies. Worked with amazing people at awesome products that have (or will) changed the world.
And still have few, strong, bonds with very few people who are still here as my side wings.

Well this makes me excited about the next post I’ll write 10 years from now. It’s gonna be another series of intesting rides around the sun.

Welcome, 40. Buon compleanno Metiu.

P.s. Yes, whenever I’m asked my age, the first answer that my brains spits out is still 24.

Berlin.

I have spent, together with our Health curator Roberto Ascione, the last two days in ‪‎Berlin‬ to set-up the stage and start-up our operations for Frontiers Health (Berlin, November 17 and 18, 2016).

It’s been an amazing experience with a super warm welcome from the city and more than 20 meetings with local start-up founders, Venture Funds, Accelerators, partners and event organisers. I’m truly grateful to all the people we met for the passion and expertise they offered us. I’m thrilled of launching our first product abroad in this city and can’t wait to see it taking more and more shape.

We want the event to be extremely inclusive for the whole digital health‬ industry welcoming pharma companies, investors, start-ups, managers and physicians, patients and we start by partnering with the other big events in Europe (more on this soon).

Ticket sales will start (very) soon. Subscribe to our mailing list to be notified before we kick-it off (and grant you the fellow ultra-reduced price) on http://frontiershealth.co

Looking forward to meet you all in Berlin.

Monday run.

Another interesting run today. The winter is not still convinced to take full stage here in Milan so it happens that you run in february with 10 Celsius and shorts.

At the end of my 8Km workout there were some thoughts that stroke me:

1) Serendipity keeps being the most powerful force in my life. While – in the locker room – choosing whether to go for the city track or the park track, the guy the city track is entitled to started texting out-of-the-blue (he’s having a hell of a world solo trip, vero Mattia?). Choice was then easy.

2) At 4.35 of average pace, after 4Km, my mind completely detaches from my body and I float somewhere 45 degrees up north of it. So if you see me and I don’t see you, you now know why.

3) Monday is the very best super perfect day for me to run. After the weekend food-pornography and the children invasion, after the beginning of the week morning back-to-back meetings, this is just me flying solo through the city.

4) Spotify random playlist knows much more of the inner-me that I’d want to.
